Affirmations follow the belief that you are what you think. It’s the practice of speaking or thinking statements that cultivate our desired way of life and cultivate the dreams we want to become reality.
The word affirmation comes from the Latin affirmare, meaning to fortify, strengthen, present as true.
Affirmations are used to reprogram our subconscious minds and can also rewire our brains. They can be spoken aloud or simply thought in a quiet, focused mind. One element that makes affirmations more effective is adding emotion to them. Feeling that the affirmation you are speaking is true in the present moment increases its power in your subconscious mind. So, you must tap into how you would feel if the affirmation was true right this moment. This gets easier the more you practice.
Not only do affirmations help us believe in the potential of what we desire to manifest, they program our mind in a way that moves it to seek and reveal to us opportunities that we hadn’t noticed before.
Below is a list of affirmations to adjust as you wish and incorporate in you daily life as part of your morning routine, your midday routine, and/or right before you go to bed. My favorite time to do affirmations is mornings. Each morning before I leave my bedroom to start the day, I repeat a set of affirmations that match whatever I am focused on manifesting at the time. I remind myself not to just repeat them but to take the time and focus and intentionally feel them.
I find it best to focus on a list of five or less affirmations. You don’t want to overwhelm yourself with the process. Simple is best. Also, you will be more successful in feeling the real emotions of five affirmations than a long list of say 20. Some affirmations begin with “I am” but not all do.
